    1. Gun Group Fights Ohio Cities’ Anti-Gun Regulations

Gun Group Fights Ohio Cities’ Anti-Gun Regulations

I’ve said before that whenever any government at any level passes a new gun control law, that law needs to be challenged immediately in a court of law. It needs to become so standard that communities looking at pushing anti-gun measures down people’s throats will also start to account for the legal costs before passing any such measure.

      Luckily, this is already happening.

    2. Once Again, We See The Unreasonable Nature Of Anti-Gunners

Once Again, We See The Unreasonable Nature Of Anti-Gunners

Shortly after the Constitution was ratified, our Founding Fathers set to work on something else. They figured that as good as the Constitution was, it still left a few things up for grabs. They wanted to preserve a few key rights, civil liberties that they believed were essential for our nation’s future.

Among those were the right to free speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of the press, just to name a few.

Called “The Bill of Rights,” these first ten amendments solidified our liberties and freedoms that are not granted by the government but by our very nature has free people.

Another of those liberties was the right to keep and bear arms.

    3. Another Florida Tragedy, This Time Showing Gun Control’s Failure

Another Florida Tragedy, This Time Showing Gun Control’s Failure

Florida feels kind of like the epicenter of tragedy in this country at the moment. Despite it having no kind of monopoly on horrible events, one can almost be forgiven for believing otherwise.

The most recent involved a man taking four children hostage after his girlfriend told police he’d battered her earlier this week. In the end, all four children were killed, a police officer was shot, and the hostage taker apparently committed suicide.

Oh, yeah, he was also a convicted felon.

    4. Why I Get Furious When Anti-Gunners Think We Support Mass Shootings

Why I Get Furious When Anti-Gunners Think We Support Mass Shootings

Yesterday was kind of a rough day for me. Most of you don’t know and don’t care about my personal life, and that’s fine. I’m just some guy who writes about gun rights on the internet. You don’t need to know anything about me.

But this time, you might find my personal life a little interesting. It relates to why I get so damn furious when anti-gunners claim we somehow want to see people die in mass shootings, that we somehow don’t care.

    5. Seven Concealed Carry Essentials For Every Man

Seven Concealed Carry Essentials For Every Man

If you’re going to carry a concealed firearm, there are certain things you really must have. Recently, I was asked to mention what I considered the essentials for a man going about town with a concealed firearm. I’m going to assume you already have a gun, of course, but if not then the discussion of what to look for is a whole other topic for another post.

    6. Vermont Governor Signs Series Of Gun Control Bills

Vermont Governor Signs Series Of Gun Control Bills

Vermont, despite its location in the Northeast, had a reputation as being one of the most pro-gun states in the country. They had no real gun control laws of their own to speak of. They followed federal laws, but other than that? Not much else.

      However, that’s all over now.

Vermont governor Phil Scott signed a package of sweeping gun-control reforms into law Wednesday, in an unprecedented moment for the historically pro-Second Amendment state.

Chicago Teachers Taking Free Concealed Carry Classes

When we think of anti-gun cities, Chicago sits right in our Top Five list. However, since the Supreme Court’s decision in McDonald v Chicago, the city has been far more open to guns than some of us would like to think.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. It’s far from a pro-gun city by any stretch of the imagination. However, you actually can have a gun there, which is a major step forward.

LA Times: 10,000 Californians Who Shouldn’t Own Guns, Do. That’s Unpossible!

California has some of the most strict gun control laws in the country, yet despite the laws, it seems that thousands of Californians who shouldn’t own firearms, do. At least, that’s what the Los Angeles Times notes in their story on the situation.

In response to the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut five years ago, outraged California lawmakers launched a crackdown within months of the tragedy that has seized 18,000 firearms, including assault rifles, from thousands of people convicted of felonies, subject to domestic violence restraining orders or judged by the courts to be ...

    9. California Wants To Prevent Legally Armed, Law-Abiding Teachers From Fighting Back

California Wants To Prevent Legally Armed, Law-Abiding Teachers From Fighting Back

We get that California isn’t generally a pro-gun state. It’s not Arizona or Kansas, for example. However, one thing they did that was somewhat pro-gun was allow school superintendents to grant teachers permission to carry firearms if they have a valid concealed carry permit.

Despite the law being in effect for a couple of years now, and despite zero problems as the result of armed teachers, there’s a bill in the state that seeks to take away that ability.

    10. Millennial Women Buying Guns Leaves Some Baffled

Millennial Women Buying Guns Leaves Some Baffled

Women are particularly vulnerable to violent crime. On average, they tend to be physically weaker than the typical attacker. That means all else being equal, women are at a decided disadvantage in a violent encounter.

While many of us–myself especially included–tend to dog Millennials for being spoiled and unwilling to take responsibility, that’s not entirely fair. Many are doing just that…especially the Millennial women who are arming themselves.

    11. How California’s New Ammo Regulations May Impact You

How California’s New Ammo Regulations May Impact You

We all know just how hostile to the Second Amendment the state of California is. If there’s a ludicrous idea to allegedly reduce crime but will really just impact the rights of ordinary Americans, California will jump all in for it. Such is their way.

A while ago, the state enacted numerous restrictions on ammunition, clearly taking a cue from public intellectual and policy expert Chris Rock (language in this clip is NSFW):

Albany State University Prepares for Its First Year With Campus Carry

Students attending Albany State University (ASU) in Georgia are returning to campus for the first time since the state legalized campus carry earlier this year.

On May 4th, Gov. Nathan Deal signed House Bill 280 into law, allowing weapons permit holders to conceal carry their firearms in certain areas on public college and university campuses in Georgia. The law went into effect two months later, on July 1st.

Aggravated Robbery Suspect Gets Smoked by Store Employee in Texas

Karma just lit one up on an aggravated robbery suspect in Waco, Texas.

Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said at 11:15 p.m. Saturday night, an armed robbery suspect wearing a ski mask walked into Tee’s Smoke Shop and demanded money at gunpoint.

Unfortunately for him, the employee behind the counter was armed, and defending his own life, drew his weapon and shot the suspect several times.

    14. Florida Sheriff Considers Concealed Carry Permit Holders the “First Line of Defense”

Florida Sheriff Considers Concealed Carry Permit Holders the “First Line of Defense”

Sheriff Wayne Ivey of Brevard County, FL, who has posted videos declaring “we can’t afford to sit back and wait for the next act of terrorism”, doesn’t worry about being politically correct, “just correct.”

“If you are a concealed carry permit holder, carry your guns with you. It’s not doing you any good at the house, it’s not doing you any good in the car.”

Ivey and his office advocate for what Ivey calls the four A’s of survival: Arm yourself, Awareness, Avoidance, and Attack.

Good Guy With a Gun Heralded a Hero by Arlington Police, Patrons

Police in Arlington, TX are praising the swift action of a concealed carry permit holder who stepped up to eliminate a threat in a local restaurant Wednesday night.

Authorities say the gunman walked into Zona Caliente, in the 6500 block of South Cooper Street, about 6:15 p.m. and fatally shot 37-year-old Cesar Perez of Duncanville, the bar’s manager, Arlington police spokesman Christopher Cook said. Authorities later found two loaded guns and two knives on Jones, Cook said.
